  • Teaching the fundamentals of the church found in the first century with an emphasis on doctrine, structure, names, and worship of Christ's Church

  • Discuss the scriptures relative to marriage with an emphasis on practical application

Young adults (HS Seniors - Age 23)

(Sunday/ Wednesday)

  • Focus on building and maintaining relationships with family and friends
  • Teach the use of Christian principles when making decisions and choices
  • Discuss becoming  a servant/leader
  • Introduce evangelistic ideas
  • Emphasize choices and consequences
  • Discuss the age group's changing roles in society, the family and the church
Have active participation in discussions of self-respect;  being unique/"peculiar"; responsibility; differences between freedom vs. independence; maturing while continuing to honor parents.  Other topics will include: "Where to go for guidance"; "How to succeed"; "Using your influence" and "Tools for living separate from parents".

Teen (9th - 11th Grade)

(Sunday/ Wednesday)

  • Expose students to God's love and equip them to exalt God
  • Fellowship with other Christians and experience the good of the ministry
  • Reinforce Christian virtues and values
  • Learn Biblical guidelines for marriage and intimate relationships
Discuss broader concepts like forgiveness,  loyalty, commitment, honesty,  responsibility, etc?  Moral lessons, discussions and debates on teen relevant topics then connect to Christian principles (ex. fighting vs. walking away; the difference between confidence and arrogance.)  Other topics will include: "Dating God's way"; "Forgiving self for past wrongs". "How to deal with temptation".  "setting goals and "Taking care of the physical and spiritual body".

Pre-Teen (6th - 8th Grade)

(Sunday/ Wednesday)

  • Teach students to explain Christianity to their peers.
  • Emphasize the Biblical family structure and each member's responsibilities
  • Introduce basic concept of service
  • Emphasize Christian concepts i.e. obedience, faith, love, ect.
Students can perform in role-playing activities. i.e. skits.  Participate in lessons that outline and discuss role of men and women in church and marriage.  Discuss age-appropriate methods of evangelism,( lifestyle, modeling good behavior at school, etc.)  Other topics will include: "Selecting friends". "Self esteem"' "Loving the body God gave us", "Where we fit in " and "Guarding your reputation".

3rd-5th Grade

(Sunday/ Wednesday)

  • Teach the plan of salvation
  • Teach Bible chronology
  • Start  making life applications after reading a Bible story
  • Reinforce skills to improve understanding and retention
Students can read relevant scriptures and memorize the plan  of salvation.  Students can complete timelines about certain Bible events.  Students can practice using the concordance by looking up assigned topics.  Other topics will include: "Doing your best"; "Making the Bible real"; "Rules" and "Obedience".

1st and 2nd Grade

(Sunday/ Wednesday)

  • Teach students to use the Bible
  • Teach the basic structure of the Bible
  • Focus on specific characteristics/deeds of people in the Bible
  • Recognize old vs. new testament characters
  • Provide opportunities for active Bible reading
  • Focus on skills that will improve understanding and retention
Practice using table of contents then advance to study, memorization  and repetition of books of the Bible.  Use activities to reinforce books about Moses' Life; poetry books, etc. Read topics like "Ten Plagues of Egypt"' then use scriptures to answer questions.

3yrs to Kindergarten

(Sunday/ Wednesday)

  • Provide simple exposure to Bible characters, concepts and passages
  • Provide a structured class that emphasizes  discipline, courtesy and respect
  • Teach students to pray
  • Teach basic concepts of Christian behavior
Students can sing Bible songs that tell stories like "Only a Boy Named David".  Students can color activity pages or take-home booklets related to different Bible stories.  Students will learn appropriate times to pray and be allowed to practice.  Puzzles,  puppets, flash cards, and role playing can also be used for activities.

Nursery

(Sunday/ Wednesday)

  • Reinforce age-appropriate classroom behavior
  • Provide exposure to Bible stories and Christian concepts in simplified ways
  • Give children chances to observe, listen, participate, and interact with others
Students can sing songs that encourage movement like, "I'm In the Lord's Army".  Use story books with pictures that kids can sit in a circle and see.  Use flash cards and use mini-puppet shows to engage and teach Bible stories.
