MISSION STATEMENT

2007 Theme: "Evangelizing the world, one soul at a time..."   Luke 15:7

In the book of Revelation, John writes about the church at Philadelphia whose doors were opened by God because they kept God's word. (Rev. 3:8)  This is a goal that we in the Church at Wheless Lane have as our objective, to "KEEP GOD'S WORD".  We know that man can plan, but it is God who directs our path (Proverbs 16:9). Thus, we must look to God for our guidance in all things by acknowledging him. (Proverbs 3:6)

As elders of the congregation here at Wheless Lane, there are three basic objectives for work we would like to accomplish:

  • To provide programs that will expose all persons to Christ, baptize them so they will be added to the Body of Christ; (Matthew 5:16; 28:19)
  • To provide educational programs for persons in the congregation that will provide opportunities for growth in knowledge by studying God's word.  (2 Peter 3:18)
  • To provide a place that is comfortable and safe for members to assemble for worship, study, fellowship and plan for work of the Church. (Matthews 21:13)

We believe that if God is included in our plans, doors will be opened to us and we will be successful in doing the will of God.  Christ is our head and each one of us is His servant (Ephesians 1:22).  Christ has set before us works that he expects us to do in his Church (James 2:17, 18, 19).  Christ has given us gifts, (talents) to do these works  (Romans 12:6).  Let us put our gifts to work while it is day, when we are dead, we cannot work (John 9:4).
